Retracing Wandering Italia: from Colfiorito to Nocera Umbra
Waking up in a suspended and muffled world.
Getting on the road, starting to climb to rise above the thick fog and find yourself in the light of dawn, among still dark mountains that stand out like atolls in the ocean.
Silence, calm and solitude that rises to happiness, perhaps to prayer.
I walk through fields of flowers, where the dew has drawn its embroidery and shines glittering in the sunlight.
Like a red poppy in a wheat field, which in its simplicity becomes a wonderful, unforgettable detail for me, who on this trip has conquered the time to look around me.
The arrival in Bagnara, between smiles and chats with the locals. Then a mistake that leads me to change the itinerary, going down towards Nocera Umbra.
With the awareness, however, of going towards beauty anyway.
