Retracing Wandering Italia: Simply… Rocca Calascio

Retracing Wandering Italia: Simply… Rocca Calascio

The setbacks of the previous days led me to a short stage, from Ofena to Rocca Calascio, to go and crown the first absolute dream of this adventure: enjoy the sunset and sunrise from one of the most beautiful and legendary castles, Rocca Calascio.

A greeting to Ofena’s friends, then; a postponed departure due to the hangover after a fantastic night; a climb, under the scorching sun, which still allows me to turn around and enjoy the whole journey made the previous day; a meeting with Inga, a Finnish girl, and a pleasant chat while continuing to climb; and finally, Nuvola, another Abruzzese shepherd who decides to accompany me to Calascio.

Then, again, the meeting with Luigi and Alessandra, who, in addition to giving me practical advice, being connoisseurs of the places I will have to cross, also record me with a drone just as I reach the castle.

The rest, and the reason I absolutely wanted to make my dream come true, I leave to the images.

PS.
