Retracing Wandering Italia: Ortona offers wonders again

Retracing Wandering Italia: Ortona offers wonders again

If the night before the sky had given a show, the morning reply was, perhaps, even better and completely repaid the waking up before dawn: silence, absolute peace, the sky that colours and burns and then the first ray of sun that comes to warm me too, are all moments that, in their way, give meaning to whole life.

And then the country that wakes up, mildly, tenderly: “Why do people flee from such paradises?” I think while, from afar, I already greet Ortona dei Marsi, a wonderful and, unfortunately, semi-abandoned town.

But, and I’m sure of it, many here have left their hearts.

Me too…

In 2018 I embarked on a journey, on foot and alone, from the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise towards Trieste, going up the Apennines and facing the Alps.

If you want to learn more about this incredible experience, you can find Wandering Italia – A Journey To Come Back To Life on Amazon, Kobo and in PDF format.
