E tra gli uccelli che decidono di non lasciare la Svezia durante l’inverno, abbiamo anche questo piccolo e carino Piovanello Violetto (Calidris maritima)

Anzi, a dire il vero possiamo dire che È venuto al sud della Scandinavia proprio per svernare, visto che solitamente preferisce vivere nelle tundre del nord.
Davvero piccolo (21-24 cm in lunghezza, 43 cm di apertura alare e appena 70 grammi) in inverno vive lungo le spiagge, solitamente in gruppi numerosi.

Questo esemplare ha deciso di fare il solitario e, mentre con gli ospiti ammiravamo le foche, si è avvicinato ad un paio di metri come a dire:

“Ehi, ci sono anche io!”
E un paio di foto non potevo negargliele…

And among the birds that decide not to leave Sweden during the winter, we also have this cute little Purple Sandpiper ( Calidris maritima)

Indeed, to be honest we can say that it came to the south of Scandinavia just to spend the winter, since it usually prefers to live in the northern tundras.
Really small (21-24 cm in length, 43 cm in wingspan and just 70 grams) in winter it lives along the beaches, usually in large groups.

This specimen decided to go solitary and, while we admired the seals with the guests, he approached us and just a couple of meters away it seems to scream:

“Hey, I’m here too!”
And I could not deny it a couple of shots…
