Sono stato un po’ assente negli ultimi giorni, non perché abbia passato le feste a festeggiare ma perché le ho passate a lavorare.

A parte il 24 e 25, giustamente presi come giorni liberi per festeggiare il Natale, dall’inizio di novembre sto ormai lavorando quasi tutti i giorni, grazie soprattutto all’esperienza delle foche gigie che sta andando alla grande.

E la cosa bella è che non mi pesa affatto, anzi, perché se è vero che uscire tutti i giorni in Natura e prendere freddo, tanto, tutti i giorni possa stancare è anche vero che il solo ripensare a quando mi alzavo per andare a fare qualcosa che odiavo mi ridona subito nuova vitale energia.
E poi ci sono loro, i miei ospiti, con i loro sorrisi soddisfatti, i loro complimenti, le loro recensioni e la soddisfazione totale nel sapere di aver regalato loro dei ricordi indimenticabili.
Posso chiedere qualcosa di più?

No, affatto, soprattutto se poi ho la possibilità di avere ancora del tempo per fare quello che amo, per continuare a seguire le mie passioni per la Natura e per la fotografia.

Così, il primo gennaio, dopo aver riaccompagnato in città i miei ospiti ho deciso di andare a regalarmi una nuova sorpresa: la mia prima ulula!

Questo piccolo rapace (lungo 35–43 cm circa, pesa attorno ai 346 g ed ha un’apertura alare in media di 83–84 cm) appartenente alla famiglia degli Strigidi, solitamente vive nella regione Norrland, ossia al nord della Svezia, ma da qualche giorno era stato avvistato alle porte di Malmö dove è venuto probabilmente a svernare.

Dicono che i gufi portano fortuna e, sicuramente, vederne uno raro il primo giorno dell’anno non può che essere di buon auspicio.
Comunque sia, ho già la fortuna di vivere la fortuna dei miei giorni felici.

I’ve been a bit off-line in the last few days, not because I spent the holidays celebrating but because I spent them working.

Apart from the 24th and 25th, rightly taken as free days to celebrate Christmas, since the beginning of November I am now working almost every day, thanks above all to the experience of the grey seals which is going great.

And the nice thing is that it does not bother me at all, on the contrary, because if it is true that going out every day in Nature and getting cold, so much, every day can tire me out, it is also true that just thinking about when I had to get up to go to do something I hated, immediately gives me new vital energy back.
And then there are them, my guests, with their satisfied smiles, their compliments, their reviews and my total satisfaction in knowing that I have given them unforgettable memories.
Can I ask for more?

No, not at all, especially if I have the opportunity to still have time to do what I love, to continue to follow my passions for Nature and for photography.

So, on January 1st, after taking my guests back to town, I decided to go and give me a new surprise: my first northern hawk-owl!

This small bird of prey (about 35–43 cm long, weighs around 346 g and has an average wingspan of 83–84 cm) belonging to the Strigidae family, usually lives in the Norrland region, i.e. in the north of Sweden, but from a few days he had been spotted near Malmö where it probably came to spend the winter.

They say that owls bring luck and, surely, seeing a rare one on the first day of the year can only be a good omen.
Anyway, I’m already lucky enough to live the luck of my happy days.
