Da quando nel 1989, grazie allo Storkprojektet (Progetto Cicogna) è stata inserita una coppia di questi splendidi uccelli che erano scomparsi dal 1954, non è difficile avvistarli nelle campagne dello Skåne soprattutto.
Già una volta ho potuto assistere ad uno stupendo spettacolo offertomi da una cicogna mentre era alla ricerca di cibo.
Un paio di giorni fa, mentre ero alla ricerca dei daini bianchi, ho avuto un’altro incontro, questa volta molto più ravvicinato e, soprattutto, inaspettato.
Così ho fatto un po di ricerche e ho scoperto molte cose interessanti, simboli e leggende, sulla Cicogna . Tra i molti, che potete trovare facendo una rapida ricerca in rete, ne ho preferiti due in particolare:
La cicogna simboleggia una nuova vita, l’arrivo della primavera e la buona fortuna.
La cicogna è anche l’emblema del viaggiatore.
E io che mi ritenevo già super fortunato per il solo fatto che una cicogna abbia deciso di volarmi sulla testa…

Thanks to the Storkprojektet (Stork Project) which in 1989 released a couple of these beautiful birds, after their disappearing since 1954, it is not difficult nowadays to see them in the Skåne County countryside.
I already had the chance once to watch a wonderful show offered to me by a stork while it was looking for food.
A couple of days ago, while I was looking for white fallow deer, I had another meeting, this time much closer and, above all, unexpected.
So I did some research and discovered many interesting things, symbols and legends about the Stork. Among the many, which you can find by doing a quick search on the net, I have preferred two in particular:
The stork symbolises a new life, the arrival of spring and good luck.
The stork is also the emblem of the traveler.
And I thought I was already super lucky just because a stork decided to fly over my head ..

In America say….before 1960, It would not be uncommon for a parent to answer a young child’s questions – “Where do babies come from,” and the answer would be “The stork brings them and drops them down a chimney (or leaves it on a door-step all bundled tidily up in swaddling – the door is opened to reveal a cute little baby all perfect and cooing).” We can see this in old cartoons of that era. And yes, I think I was told that, too when I was very very young.
I’m a nurse. I know that the myth isn’t true. LOL
So here, the implied meaning of The stork can be the bringer of a new Human life; the return to innocents as delivered into the care of those that value new life; new beginnings to start fresh from as we are fostered into our maturity at which point, we too, shall receive a beautiful and perfect package of life to care for.
