Nelle pause, per “riposarmi”, tra le altre cose sto anche riorganizzando le foto della scorsa estate.
Avrete sicuramente capito che non sono un particolare amante delle città, alle quali preferisco indubbiamente la Natura, ma non posso negare di essermi innamorato di Varsavia.
Sono ormai 4 anni che la frequento spesso, almeno un paio di volte l’anno, e l’ho potuta visitare in tutte le stagioni, nel caldo estivo come nel freddo siberiano dello scorso inverno.
È una bella città, sotto molto punti di vista, pulita, organizzata e in continua espansione.
Ma c’è un luogo che amo particolarmente e che è tappa fissa ogni volta che torniamo: la parte vecchia della città.
Lo scorso agosto abbiamo deciso di goderla appieno, prima sorseggiando un drink nel Rynek Starego Miasta, ossia la piazza cuore del centro storico, poi attraversando Piazza Castello con la sua Colonna di Sigismondo, e infine mangiando a uno dei tanti ristoranti con i tavolini all’aperto.
C’era qualcosa di speciale nell’aria quella sera: Varsavia è una città ammaliatrice, in tutte le stagioni, ma quella sera i colori del tramonto le hanno forse donato uno dei vestiti più belli per pavoneggiarsi.
Se avete in mente un viaggio verso questa città, andateci in quel periodo tra l’inoltrata primavera e inizio autunno (anche se, sotto Natale, saranno le fibrillanti luci a farvi innamorare).
Andrete sicuramente a passeggiare tra le variopinte case della città vecchia: lasciatevi conquistare…
During my breaks, to “relax”, I’m also re-organising and working on last summer pictures.
Probably you already figured out I’m not a great enthusiast of cities, I truly love Nature most, but I can not deny I fell in love in Warsaw.
I’ve been there a lot in the past 4 years, almost twice at year, and I had the possibility to visit it in every season and weather condition, in the summer heat as in the Siberian cold of last winter.
Warsaw is an amazing city, clean, well organised and still developing.
But there is a place in particular that I love and where I always come back: the old town.
Last August we decided to enjoy it even more, first having a drink in Rynek Starego Miasta square, heart of the old town, then crossing the Castle Square admiring the column of Sigismund III Vasa, and finally enjoying a nice dinner outside in one of the many restaurants close-by.
There was something magical in the air that evening: Warsaw is a charming town, always, but that day she decided to dress up in some of the most astonishing colours of an amzing sunset.
If you planned to visit this city, highly recommended, I suggest to go during the period between late Spring and early Autumn, even if in Christmas time there will be all the amazing lights to put a spell on you.
For sure you will have a walk between the colourful houses of the old town: be aware, you could fall in love…
